Client Response
The project was completed on schedule and the clients were delighted with Bardavcol’s work.
The project involved the construction of a roller compacted concrete dam as part of the Gawler Flood Plain Mitigation Scheme. The dam will have a crest length of 200 metres and a height of 32 metres. Bardavcol have also won the contract for the initial earthworks required for the project including the exposing of bedrock on which the dam foundation will be based.
Key features include:
The stripping of topsoil and removal of weathered rock in the dam basin
Dental work on the exposed rock using concrete to ensure adequate foundations for the dam
The construction of a roller compacted concrete dam using
approximately 45,000m3 of material
Concrete batch on site to meet
project delivery requirements
Environmental monitoring and sediment control
