THINK FIRST, ACT LATER

Before conducting a task on site you need to take a step back and analyse the situation before you start work.

Do you have all the tools and equipment necessary to get the job done?

Do you know the hazards and risks that exist for the task?

Has the task been risk assessed?

Can the task even be done safely?

All these things need to be thought about before you start a task, and the best way to make sure you’ve thought about all the requirements for a task is to complete a Job Task Cards.

Are your actions placing yourself, or someone else in danger?

Job Task Cards are a great tool to help identify the hazards involved in the task ahead, and should be filled out as a group prior to starting work.
