Our History

Bardavcol Pty Ltd was incorporated in the state of South Australia in December 1975. In our early years the company worked mainly as an earthmoving contractor primarily for builders; preparing building platforms, excavating footings and generally undertaking site works. Bardavcol's first project was an extension to an Administration Building for Woolworth's Salisbury East depot. This led to a range of civil works projects for builders and developers including undertaking major subdivisions initially for developers and later for themselves.

As the company matured, we moved into other areas of civil engineering and began taking on larger projects as the Head Contractor. By the mid 1980s, Bardavcol had branched into project management of property and land development and was earning an enviable reputation as a timely and cost effective deliverer of quality products.

In the early 1990's, Bardavcol undertook several large projects interstate, however decided to concentrate on the growing road construction market in South Australia.  Bardavcol found its niche through a very successful partnership with the Department for Infrastructure  & Transport with the construction of Montague Road sections of the South Road Connector, Main North Road, Glen Osmond Intersection and Mount Osmond Interchange. Bardavcol was successful in winning some significant South Australian major road projects in the early 2000's with projects such as the Port River Expressway Stage 1, Stages 1 - 5 of the Sturt Highway and several stages of the Dukes Highway Upgrade. More recently Bardavcol have just completed the Gawler East Link Road and numerous urban infrastructure upgrades as part of DIT's congestion busting program

Recognising the need to diversify into other industries, Bardavcol commenced another successful partnership with the grain industry. Initially involving the construction of grain bunkers to meet the needs of the State's increasing harvest, it evolved to complete Design and Construct projects including bunkers, storage sheds and bins and grain handling equipment. Bardavcol have always had a significant presence in the installation of infrastructure, from land development on the Fleurieu Peninsula to making safe SA Waters storages.  Bardavcol are rightly proud of their achievements in partnering with SA Water to undertake the majority of dam safety upgrades over the last two decades culminating in the recently completed Kangaroo Creek Safety upgrade and our part in ensuring water security for the state.
