WORKING AROUND LIVE TRAFFIC

CONTROLS

  • A Traffic Management Plan must be in place for all works near roads, rail lines, waterways etc.

  • All Setups must be in line with Australian Standards, and work under permit issued by DIT or the local council.

  • Only trained and competent personnel to setup or remove traffic controls.

  • Only trained and competent personnel to undertake Stop/Slow duties.

  • No person or plant is to work within 3m of a live lane without speed reductions to 40km/h in place, or 25km/h if less than 1.2m. No one is to work closer than 0.5m to live traffic.

  • You must always have a clear escape route, don’t put yourself in a place where you can be pinned by a vehicle.

  • A safe path for pedestrian access must be made through the site.

  • Never trust drivers to do the right thing, always be aware of your surroundings!!
