CONTROLS

• An Excavation Permit must be issued before any digging can occur in an area on site.

• Dial Before You Dig (DBYD) must be consulted to identify any existing services.

• Be aware DBYD plans DO NOT cover off on all the services that are in the ground, undertaken visual inspections for others.

• Ensure all emergency procedures listed by the asset owner in the DBYD are followed.

• All known services must be pot holed and physically located before any mechanical excavation can occur. 

• Ensure that there is a trained and competent Spotter working with each excavator near services.

• Only qualified, competent and ticketed operators are to operate items of plant near services.

• All overhead cables must be measured for height and recorded prior to works commencing in Planning Stage.
