CONTROLS

• Exclusion Zones will be used with all plant activities, and will be demarcated by BLUE Safety Cones. This can be as a circle around an machine to show the slew zone, or as a gate system for a machine to work in.

• Workers must not work within the slew zone of an operating machine.

• Positive Communication is to be established before approaching an operating item of plant.

• Only qualified and competent, ticketed operators are to operate items of plant.

• Operators must maintain 3 points of contact when entering and exiting plant.

• Beware of overhead power lines. Look up and Live.

• Beware of operator blind spots, never stand where you can’t be seen.

• All items of plant must have a prestart check conducted before each shift.
