Mount Barker Interchange Upgrade

$52.5 million - Department of Infrastructure and Transport (DIT)

On behalf of the South Australian Government, Bardavcol will join with Tonkin and their partner GHD in designing and constructing the Mount Barker Interchange Upgrade. Mount Barker is currently a major growth area in the Adelaide Hills, upgrading this interchange will improve capacity, traffic efficiency and commuter safety in the area.
 

  • The upgraded interchange will include:

  • A new three lane bridge over the South Eastern Freeway for northbound traffic

  • Conversion of the existing bridge to accommodate three lanes of southbound traffic

  • A new signalised intersection at Adelaide Road and the freeway exit ramp from Murray Bridge

  • Upgrades to the existing ramps to and from Adelaide to improve safety and capacity

  • A new bus priority lane

  • A new shared path

  • A new northbound on road bike lane

  • Improved accessibility and safety for Adelaide Road service road.
